This video essay explores the relationship between the organic and the artificial through a visual transition that moves from the trunk of a felled tree to a 3D sculpture. Natural textures—the growth rings, the traces of time—are translated into digital surfaces, establishing a dialogue between matter and image.

Building on this transition, the piece reflects on the construction of the self in the age of technical reproduction and artificial intelligence. The appearance of a double—and its duplication—introduces a tension between identity, representation, and simulacrum, where the gaze no longer guarantees recognition but rather a splitting of the self.
