This Artography Film explores the landscape as a vestige of repeated trauma, suspended between myth, memory, and historical exhaustion.
The title draws on the Greek term στάσις, associated with internal conflict, fracture, and a community’s hostility toward itself. The scenes—artificially generated yet constructed using recognizable visual codes—evoke a strange sense of familiarity: they resemble documents of a remembered catastrophe rather than images from a work of fiction. In this sense, the piece straddles the line between archive and hallucination, questioning the capacity of images to construct truth, memory, and subjectivity. ΣΤΑΣΙΣ thus offers a reflection on the persistence of violence in contemporary visual culture and on the way in which images—even when they are artificial—continue to shape our sensory and historical experience of the world.
